Partnership for survivor support
Your clients face image-based sexual abuse. Now you can help them fight back.
Nonprofits working with survivors of exploitation, domestic violence, and sex trafficking encounter IBSA every day. Protect Privacy AI gives your organization something concrete to offer: AI-powered search, step-by-step documentation, and content removal.
Understanding the crisis
Image-based sexual abuse is everywhere.
Image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) is the non-consensual creation, sharing, or manipulation of sexual images. It includes AI-generated deepfakes made from a single photo, commercial sex acts that were filmed or shared without consent, images shared by a partner or ex, hidden camera recordings, and sextortion schemes.
IBSA affects people across every demographic your organization serves. Domestic violence survivors, sex trafficking survivors, people leaving exploitative situations. The abuse doesn't stop when someone leaves. Images persist online, are re-uploaded, and resurface for years.

48 hrs
Federal law now requires platforms to remove reported sexual images within 48 hours. Many still don't.
Sources: Umbach, Henry & Beard, "Prevalence and Impacts of Image-Based Sexual Abuse Victimization: A Multinational Study," CHI 2025 (22.6% of adults across 10 countries; 30.9% never told anyone); TAKE IT DOWN Act, Pub. L. 119-12 (2025).
The gap in survivor services
Your advocates are doing everything they can. They need better tools.
Organizations like yours provide safety planning, legal advocacy, counseling, and crisis support. But when a survivor says "my images are online," your staff has had very little that actually works to recommend.
The two most commonly referenced free tools, StopNCII and Take It Down, are valuable and we work alongside them. They create digital fingerprints (hashes) of images a survivor already has and share them with participating platforms to block re-uploads. What they don't do is search for content, submit takedown requests, or help when the survivor has never seen the images. That is the part Protect Privacy AI covers.
The reality your staff faces
A survivor discloses that sexual images are being shared online. Your advocate wants to help, but the options have been: tell them to report to each platform individually (a process that can take months and often fails), refer them to a removal service that charges $3,000 to $50,000+, or point them to a free tool that can only block images they already have. This is the gap Protect Privacy AI fills.
What Protect Privacy AI does
The only service that searches, documents, and removes IBSA content at scale.
AI-powered search. Survivors create a Digital Identity Profile, a privacy-preserving signature of their likeness. Our system searches for matches, including edited and AI-altered versions. The survivor never has to upload the abusive content, and no case worker ever has to look at it. This works for deepfakes, hidden-camera images, and cases where the survivor has never seen the content.
Step-by-step documentation. Every match is documented as it is found and removed: hash-verified identification, blurred visual record, platform details, and timestamped URLs. Survivors and their attorneys can use this record when pursuing protective orders, criminal complaints, or civil cases.
Automated removal. Takedown requests are filed under each platform's NCII policy and the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act, which gives platforms 48 hours to act. If a platform doesn't comply, or has no way to request removal at all, we escalate to the infrastructure providers keeping the site online and to the Federal Trade Commission. Ongoing monitoring catches re-uploads, and we share hashes with StopNCII so removed images stay blocked.
Legal pathway connection. Survivors who need legal support are connected to attorneys experienced in IBSA cases through our referral network.
What we're seeing
Every case gets an answer. Nothing sits in a queue.
People come to us with one question no one else could answer: is there something of me out there? Most who search find nothing, and that certainty matters. For those who do find something, one image rarely stays one image. It becomes listings across many sites, which is why ongoing monitoring is part of the service rather than an add-on.
~1 in 5
of people who search find content of themselves online. The rest get a clear answer: nothing found on the open web.
~60%
of logged cases are removed, most within days of our report and with no human on our side reviewing the images.
98%
cases that involve a site unwilling to comply are escalated to the FTC and infrastructure providers. 30% of these cases are removed as a result.

How the partnership works
Simple for your organization. Powerful for your clients.
Start with a referral relationship. No contract or technical integration is required. Your advocates learn what Protect Privacy AI does and refer the survivors who need it. We handle the rest.
Reach out
Email us to set up your organization. You'll receive your nonprofit rate for scanning and a referral code your clients can use, so we can track outcomes for the people you send us.
We train your staff
Free online training on IBSA response: what it is, how to talk with survivors about it, and when and how to refer. More in-depth training, virtual or in person, is available at a cost. Co-branded materials and a referral pathway come with it.
We do the work
Protect Privacy AI handles search, documentation, takedown requests, escalation, and legal connections. Your organization receives periodic impact reports on outcomes for your referrals.
What it costs
Free when they know where it is. At cost when they don't.
We charge for scanning because the technology costs money to run. For nonprofits, we charge exactly that: our cost. Removal of content at a known URL is always free, for everyone.
Always free
Known-URL takedowns

Who's behind this
Built by people who've lived this fight.
“I've fought sexual exploitation for 15 years. When deepfakes were created to silence me, I realized survivors don't just need better laws. They need tools that work. Images shouldn't have to live online forever.”
Dawn Hawkins, Founder & CEO
Helped architect the TAKE IT DOWN Act. 15+ years leading the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. Deepfake survivor.
“I've been in the courtroom, and I've been the person the courtroom was supposed to protect. Both perspectives shape every decision I make here.”
Carissa Phelps, Co-Founder & Legal Counsel
Survivor. Lawyer. Founder of Runaway Girl, FPC. JD and MBA from UCLA. Co-led the Survivors First Collaborative securing restitution from the $215M DOJ Backpage fund. Author and subject of an award-winning documentary.
“I know what it feels like to have your image taken from you. That's why every person who comes to us is met with real support, not an automated response.”
Mariah Rief, Director of Client Experience & Trust
Founder of Undox. Survivor of sex trafficking. 4+ years working alongside federal prosecutors and FBI specialists on digital exploitation.
